LATEST NEWS:

I'm in the feature film 'I Want Candy'.  It's directed by Stephen Surjik, who directed 'Wayne's World II'.

It stars Carmen Electra, and also has McKenzie Crook (from 'Pirates of The Caribbean' and 'The Office') and Jimmy Carr in it.  It should be released in cinemas in America, Britain, and Europe in 2007.  I play a porn actor (but I don't do anything rude or nude).

Not everything I do is successful.  This sponsored row across the Sahara Desert ended in failure, after Al Qaeda terrorists stole my oars.  Here I put on a brave face for journalists outside the tiny oasis of Wadi El-Aq-Bin-Furgh.

My absurd style of stand-up comedy inspired Ben Elton to write a part especially for me in the feature film 'MAYBE BABY', which was on general release around the world, including America.

I'm in 'Harry Hill's Shark Infested Custard', the second series of which will be shown on ITV1 this Spring.  I was in episode 3 of Ben Elton's sitcom 'Blessed', which was shown on BBC1 last Autumn.

I played a semi-regular character in two series of the sitcom 'Time Gentlemen Please', starring Al Murray as The Pub Landlord

I was in Harry Hill’s live stage show 'Hooves', which did a sell-out tour of over seventy dates around Britain in 2005, including The Dominion Theatre in London's West End.  The DVD of the show is selling well, and I feature prominently in the DVD extras.

I wrote for both series of 'The Sketch Show' (ITV1), which has been re-made for the Fox Network in America.

I co-wrote a Radio Four series called 'Boothby Graffoe in No Particular Order', which ran for six episodes in 2005. It was the fourth Radio Four series of Boothby's for which I wrote.

I love writing and performing.  I consider my greatest achievement to be the novel 'Stand-up Comedy', a free sample of which is available on this site.  Please don't look at it if you're under eighteen, or easily shocked.  I specialise in comedy,  but I also do serious stuff.  I'm fully aware that some of the pictures on this site take too long to download.  I'm learning how to optimise them.

Dave - this is no life for an actor

Me as Tinky Winky,
one of the Teletubbies.

I've also done countless cable TV and radio shows, and I wrote and presented for “Dream World”, a documentary shown on Channel Four in the Summer of ‘98.

I've featured in ten TV commercials.

Writing

I was a commissioned writer for the first series of “Harry Hill’s TV Burp” (ITV1), “The Ben Elton Show” (BBC1), “Tonight at The London Palladium” (LWT), “Comedy Network” (Channel 5), and “Paul Zenon’s Turning Tricks” (Channel Four).

I write all my own jokes, as well as providing material to many other comedians.

Sit Down Comedy

I co-wrote a story in the book "Sit-Down Comedy" with Jim Tavare.  The book's website is: www.sitdowncomedy.co.uk

If you want to buy a copy of "Sit-Down Comedy", click here:

I've written for ESQUIRE, GQ, TIME OUT, and IT MAGAZINE

Performance

My quirky comedy has got me work as a stand-up comedian in the USA, Sweden, France, Ireland, Holland, The Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Dubai, Oman, and The Falklands.  This in addition to the British "comedy circuit", including Jongleurs and The Comedy Store in London.

I'm best known for being Tinky Winky - the most famous of the “TELETUBBIES”.

I have several credits as a serious stage actor.
